The Waldorf Astoria Archive
Mission
The mission of the Waldorf Astoria Archive is to collect, organize, preserve, and make accessible records of historic and intrinsic value related to the history of the hotel; to provide research support; and to further enhance an understanding of the hotel’s history within the history of New York City.
About
The archive of the Waldorf Astoria Hotel is an actively collecting repository which maintains a variety of materials pertaining to the rich history and culture of our establishment. Content relates to famous guests, staff, and events that have occurred at both our original and current locations dating from 1893-present day. Our collection contains a wide range of materials including photographs; correspondences; menus; programs; periodicals; ephemera; objects such as fine china, ash trays, and silverware; and textiles such as staff uniforms and linens.
Digital Archive
Our digital platform provides open access to over 1,000 images of unique archive materials. We continue to upload images and add content so that many more people will engage with our history.
