Description
Black and white photograph depicting Oscar of the Waldorf helping eight-year-old Marjorie Hunt bake a cake for the First Lady. On March 1, 1934, the Waldorf=Astoria Hotel hosted a reception and tea celebrating the 22nd birthday of the Camp Fire Girls. Under the guidance of Oscar Tschirky and Fleuriot (head pastry chef), Marjorie Hunt baked Eleanor Roosevelt Cake (angel food cake iced in white with blue scallops) and presented it to Mrs. Franklin Delano Roosevelt, who was guest of honor at the event.
