The Starlight Roof of the Waldorf Astoria Hotel as seen in the late 1940s. Located on the 18th floor of the hotel, the Starlight Roof served as a supper-club for decades featuring performers such as Xavier Cugat and Ella Fitzgerald.

Prior to the closing of the first Waldorf Astoria, the roof top was used as a playground for children staying at the hotel.

During the winter months from 1903-1929, the roof garden of the Waldorf Astoria Hotel was converted into an ice skating rink to be used by hotel guests.
