French aviators Paul Codos (right) and Maurice Rossi after their aborted attempt at flying from Paris to San Diego on May 28-29, 1934. Due to equipment failure, they landed at Bennett Field, and were escorted to the fourteenth floor of the Waldorf Astoria.
Their clothing was supplied by Freem's Ltd, which was located on the first floor of the Waldorf Astoria.
