Born in the imagination of sea captain Ben Wenberg, Lobster Newburg was introduced at Delmonico’s Restaurant in 1876. Oscar Tschirky brought it from Delmonico’s to a new home at the original Waldorf, whose Chefs perfected the American classic.
In our decadent but oh-so-worth-it preparation of the dish, chunks of mouthwatering, fresh Maine lobster peak out from a rich, tarragon-infused Sherry cream sauce. For those that have not tried it, Maine lobster has a delicate flavor that is both slightly sweet and briny at the same time.
