Black and white photograph depicting the Basildon Room from the 1935 publication "The Waldorf-Astoria" by Richard Averill Smith.

This recreation of the salon of an English manor house includes original paintings, cornices and a mantel from the old manor. The canvases are attributed to artist Angelica Kauffmann. All non-original materials were faithfully reconstructed from models and records.
